Fast food nutrition is really, for the most part, non nutrition. Some fast food restaurants are getting on board with healthier food options. The new face of fast food nutrition involves fresh fruit, salads and lower fat options for sandwiches with grilled chicken and fish. If you are following a healthy diet plan and need a quick lunch on the go, it is now possible to do so with fast food.

Fast food has been linked to a variety of health maladies, including obesity, heart disease and high blood pressure. When this diet is combined with a sedentary lifestyle, it is a recipe for disaster. Even some foods that you purchase in your local grocery store equates to little more than fast food nutrition.

You Are What Yo Eat

There is no doubt that the food that you eat directly affects your health. As the old adage goes, you are what you eat so if you put garbage in, you will get garbage out. With fast food being so prevalent, people are finding more and more that they are lacking true nutritional advice.

All of the preservatives, sugars and artificial ingredients in processed foods can contribute to many different health problems. High fructose corn syrup, hydrogenated oils and msg can all create a variety of heath issues. Food allergies and even skin conditions can stem from processed foods. Additionally, the added sodium that is often in these foods can contribute to heart problems and high blood pressure.

The Healthy Diet

Eating foods that are not conducive to a healthy eating habit can cause mood problems and sleep disorders as well. A healthy diet plan will help you all the way around in maintaining your health. It will keep your weight at a healthy level and keep your system clear of all of the artificial and damaging stuff that is in many of the foods that we tend to eat today.

When you maintain a healthy diet plan that includes a good mixture of fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains and lean meats and poultry, you ensure that you are putting good things into your body - most of the time anyway. Even fresh fruits and vegetables can have pesticides on them and our meat and poultry is often injected with hormones and antibiotics.

So, take stock of your current "healthy diet plan." Just how healthy is it? Look at the foods that you are eating and think about where they come from before you take that next bite. Learn how to read those labels with the nutrition guide on them and look for the hidden dangers in the foods that you eat. Do some research and do your homework to find the best healthy diet plan for you.
